Estimator

Summary:The Estimator will have overall responsibility for estimating and planning manufacturing operations based on cost estimates of materials needed and internal/external processes required to make parts in accordance with customer requirements.   Main Duties and Responsibilities:Develops cost estimates on individual parts and updates MRP system accordingly.Reviews customer drawings and documents and understands scope of work to bid.Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to estimate costs.Review existing cost components and planning for improvement.Obtains pricing for materials.Obtains bids from subcontractors and outside process vendors.Prepares cost analysis in computer by summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the manufacture of items.Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.Must be able to get along well with others.Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to work overtime or modify work hours on short notice if production deadlines require it.Good working knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM manufacturing is a plus.Additional Duties, as assigned.    Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be: Manufacturing estimating and/or planning experience with manufacturing operations is preferred.Have good verbal and written English communication skills: ability to read, comprehend and work from written and verbal instructions.High school diploma or GED; prefer minimum two years technical school certificate.Must have good mathematical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams experience.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
